September 11, 2021: Hurricane Larry made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h in Canada today.
Hurricane Larry has caused power outage to more than 10,000 customers mostly on the Avalon Peninsula, The Newfoundland Power confirmed.
According to the Environment Canada, storm surge has been near the Burin Peninsula and Avalon Peninsula.
As of 03:50 UTC today, Hurricane Larry is located about 135 km WSW of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
