Major flooding in Madhya Pradesh, India kills 24

September 3, 2020: At least 24 people have been killed and 11,000 people have been displaced after heavy rains causing flooding in Madhya Pradesh, India.

Heavy rainfall caused the Narmada River at Hoshangabad to rise around 2 m above the danger mark.

According to the India’s Disaster Management Division, recent flooding has affected 33.000 people across 1,906 villages and 28 districts of the state. A total of 11 197 homes have also been damaged.
