April 3, 2020: Magnitude 4.9 moderate earthquake has been recorded near Borrego Springs today along the San Jacinto fault system.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at 6:53 p.m local time with epicenter located 11 km SE of Borrego Springs and 17 km WNW of Anza, California.
The earthquake occurred at 10.5 km depth.
The USGS said it got shake reports from Mountain Center, Anza, Palm Desert, Ranchita, La Quinta, Escondido, San Diego, Poway, Santee, Ramona, Palm Springs, La Mesa, San Marcos, Temecula, Fallbrook, El Cajon, Murrieta, Rancho and Mirage.
