- According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the natural disasters in 2018 cost the United States $91 billion in damages.
- A recent survey from Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI) DisasterNet Philippines found that majority of Filipino households feel they are not fully prepared for the natural disasters strike. The survey conducted showed that among 4,368 households, only 36 percent said they are fully prepared for disasters while 74 percent admitted they were unable to invest in disaster preparations.
