May 3, 2017: Pacific forecasters have named a Category 1 cyclone as Donna which formed this evening northeast of Vanuatu, Donna.
Fiji Meteorological Service senior forecaster Stephen Meke said the system was forecast to move over Vanuatu within the next two days.
" The cyclone will be possibly attaining Category 3 by tomorrow midday. It is expected to move over Vanuatu within the next 48 hours," Radio New Zealand reported quoting Fiji Meteorological Service senior forecaster Stephen Meke.
According to the Fiji Metereological Service, Cyclone Donna was located 890 km northwest of Nadi at 3pm today.
However, Fiji currently does not have a direct threat from this system.
