Magnitude 4.0 light earthquake rattled Whakatane town of New Zealand at 02:25 pm Wednesday afternoon.
According to GeoNet, the epicenter was located 10 km north-east of Opotiki. The earthquake occurred at 46 km depth.
Light to weak tremor was felt in Whakatane, Ohope, Waiotahi and as far as Gisborne.
No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.
