Cliffs have collapsed in New Zealand during a magnitude 5.7 earthquake in Christchurch on Valentine Day, February 14, 2016.
Severe earthquake with MM 7 or greater occurred at 01:13 pm Saturday afternoon at 15 km depth, according to GeoNet, which monitors seismic activity in New Zealand. The epicenter was located 15 km east of Christchurch.
Earthquake caused a cliff to collapse near Taylor's Mistake bay. No major damage or injuries have been reported.
The earthquake occurred days before the anniversary of a deadly one in 2011. Magnitude 6.3 earthquake in Christchurch killed more than 185 people on February 22, 2011 making its the nation's second deadliest natural disaster.
