Strong earthquake hits Bajura Nepal; Tremor even felt in India capital Delhi

According to Local Police Station, at least four houses have been damaged in Barhabise and Thulsain area of Bajura.

Magnitude 5.5 strong earthquake rattled Bajura at 4:02 a.m. Saturday morning, Nepal Seismological Center reported.

The epicenter was located near Piluchaur bazzar along Karnali River.

Strong tremor was felt in Achham, Jumla, Darchula, Baitadi and neighbouring districts. The tremor was even felt in Lucknow and Indian capital Delhi.

No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.

At least 421 aftershocks of magnitude 4 or greater have been recorded in Nepal since April 25 deadly Gorkha earthquake.

Meanwhile, humanitarian agencies are unable to deliver aid to earthquake victims due to India-Nepal border blockade more than 120 days. Food and other necessities have not been supplied to survivors of Nepal earthquake victims.

Blockades along the border between Nepal and India have caused fuel shortages. Helicopters operating for the World Food Programme have also been grounded.
