Austin Mayor Steve Adler has declared a Local State of Disaster to help flood recovery following the record flooding that struck the City of Austin on October 30, 2015.
A Local State of Disaster which remain in effect for seven days until it is ratified and extended by the City Council, City of Austin Office of Homeland Security And Emergency Management mentioned in the news release issued on November 5, 2015.
Austin flooding caused damage to hundreds of homes and businesses making many more residents and families in need of temporary housing and other individual assistance.
The disaster declaration allows for greater coordination with Travis County’s own disaster declaration to facilitate reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
