Heavy downpour in Bhaktapur on Thursday has inundated at least 60 houses. The flooding caused by the swollen Hanumante river has flooded temporary shelter for earthquake survivors in the district.
Flood water has affected Chymasingh, Jagati, Maheswori, Srijananagar, Sallaghari, Bhelukhel, Ram Mandir and Barahisthan area.
The river water entered into the human settlements at around 5 am forcing people to flee to safer places, The Himalayan Times reported.
Flood water has completely submerged the temporary shelters housing some 850 earthquake survivors at the Maheshwari playground in Bhaktapur Municipality.
Nepal Army and Nepal Police personnel have involved in the rescue operations. No fatalities have been reported.
