There is 40% chance of at least one magnitude 5 to 6 aftershock within the week of May 20 to May 26, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) mentioned in the Aftershock Advisory updated on May 20, 2015.
People are urged to remain aware of the possibility of aftershocks in the coming weeks and months, especially when working in or around vulnerable structures or in landslide-prone areas.
Further, there is 6% probability of magnitude 6 to 7 aftershock within this week.
The expected location of the aftershocks will be in the zone of current activity and at its edges
with a few located further away.

According to USGS, there is no way to predict the exact date or time of
an earthquake or aftershock. USGS produces a statistical analysis of
expected aftershocks based on past earthquakes and the aftershocks
recorded in Nepal.
At least 251 aftershocks of magnitude 4 and greater have been recorded till the April 25, 2015 major earthquake. On May 20, at least two aftershocks of magnitude 4 or greater hit Nepal.
