Paphos earthquake today shakes Cyprus, no casualties reported

M 5.5 moderate earthquake shakes Cyprus today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 14 km NW of Paphos. It was 6.2 miles deep.

Following USGS Pager Map, moderate shaking of MMI V will have been felt by the people of Kissonerga, Khlorakas, Paphos, Emba and Tala. Similarly, people of Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca, Kyrenia and Famagusta will have been felt weak shaking of MMI III.

"The chair I was sitting on started moving and my sister came running down the stairs to tell me the wardrobes and doors were rattling," Sarah Ktisti, a journalist living in the region said Reuters.

No damage or injuries have been reported.
