M 3.5 light earthquake hits Los Angeles today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
According
to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located just 2 km SE of Baldwin Hills and 13 km WSW of Los Angeles. It was 6.0 miles
deep.
L.A. residents immediately rushed to Twitter and Facebook to report the news–and to search for more details on the earthquake.
Earlier in the day, a smaller 2.5 magnitude earthquake hit the same area at 4:35 pm.
No damage or injuries have been reported from earthquake in Los Angeles today.
The chance of a magnitude 8.0 or greater earthquake hitting California in the next three decades have been raised from about 4.7% to 7%, recent California earthquake prediction report by the U.S. Geological Survey has shown.
