Farmers are facing poor rainfall for almost five successive years in Tharparkar district of Pakistan.

"Thar government has planned to install 750 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in the Thar Desert by July 2015,” Tharparkar Relief Committee (TRC) said as quoted by Inter Press Service (IPS) in January.

According to a report issued by the Economic Survey of Pakistan, the drought is one of the factors responsible for poor growth performance in the country.
