Natural disasters in China leave 29 dead in October 2014

Natural disasters in China have left 29 dead and one missing in October this year, the information from the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the National Commission for Disaster Reduction mentioned.

More than 8,000 houses have been destroyed and about 179,000 have been damaged to varying degrees by the natural calamities.

Natural disasters have caused direct economic loss of 8.11 billion yuan (1.33 billion U.S. dollars), The Xinhua News Agency has written.
