Fifty percent of Americans have not discussed or developed an emergency plan for family members about where to go and what to do in the event of a local disaster, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said in its news release on August 28, 2014.
The result came into surface after a 2014 national survey conducted by the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). FEMA and the Ad Council also launched the following public service advertisements (PSAs) today as an extension of their national Ready campaign to encourage parents to develop an emergency preparedness plan.
The news came after the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) granted $84,740 in Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funds to Stearns County, Minnesota for the construction of a safe room at the Rose Park manufactured home community. However, the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Thursday denied Hawaii's request for a major disaster declaration after Tropical Storm Iselle.
