M 4.2 moderate earthquake in Jersey, Channel Islands today is believed to be the biggest earthquake in 87 years.
According to the British Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 15 km west of Jersey, Channel islands. It was 7.4 miles deep.
Earthquake in Jersey, Channel Islands today was located approximately 37 km west of a magnitude 5.2 earthquake that occurred on 12 April 1932.
Tremor was well felt in St. Helier, St. Sampson, St. Peter Port (Guernsey) and Saint Brieuc (France) region.
According to the British earthquakes database, last earthquake in Channel Islands was on February 27, 1927. So, today's earthquake is the biggest earthquake in Jersey and Guernsey on the Channel Islands for 87 years.
The Durrell Wildlife Trust said BBC that the animals in the wildlife park reacted to the earthquake in Channel Islands today.
The British Geological Society has warned of aftershocks following the largest earthquake in Jersey, Channel Islands for almost a century, ITV Network has reported.
