Landslides, floods triggered by tropical storm Kajiki kill 6 in Philippines

Landslides and floods triggered by tropical storm Kajiki (local name: Basyang) have claimed lives of at least six people and left five others missing, The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.

Fatalities are from Cebu and Southern Leyte. Five persons are still missing in Cebu including a 25 years old Korean citizen.

The NDRRMC said  tropical storm Kajiki affected a total of 42,987 people in nine different provinces of Philippines. Around 5,646 displaced people are currently living in 32 evacuation centers.

The NDRRMC also said all ports have resumed operations, and power was restored in parts of Cebu on Sunday.
