Baku Earthquake 2014: Seismologist says more aftershocks possible in Azerbaijan

M 5.3 moderate earthquake shakes Azerbaijan today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 20 km S of Marazy and 84 km W of Baku. It was 30.4 miles deep.

Tremor was well felt by the people of Baku  and Sumgait. Baku is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan.

Local medias are reporting aftershocks possible quoting officials at seismology and geodynamics department of Seismological Service at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

Earthquake-Report.Com says local press is spreading rumors for big quake to come. The website further adds
"At this level of science NOBODY IN THE WORLD can predict an earthquake in time and magnitude. Be prepared for it at all time"
The 2000 Baku earthquake had claimed lives of 26 people.
