Avalanche east of Steamboat Springs claims 1, Colorado Avalanche Information Center confirms

An avalanche east of Steamboat Springs has claimed life of a person, the Colorado Avalanche Information Center and the Grand County Sheriff's office confirmed.

At least three snowmobilers caught in Jackson County avalanche.

Avalanche occurred at an elevation of 12,301 in the Rabbit Ears Range.
