Recent landslide in Sikkim kills 5

Recent landslide in Sikkim, India has claimed lives of five people including four of a single family.

Heavy rainfall caused landslide in Tamabung in West Sikkim at 9.30pm.

The body of a Himalayan black bear was also recovered from the landslide area.

According to the Voice of Sikkim, the bodies were sent to Namchi Hospital in South Sikkim for postmortem.

A district disaster management team, SSB personnel, Sikkim police and villagers were involved in rescue operations, Telegraph India reported.
