Peru snowstorm kills 6, emergency declared

Snowstorms in Peru have claimed lives of at least six people, local medias reported. More than 30,000 domestic animals including sheep, llamas and alpacas have also been killed.

According to Peru This Week, around 12,000 families have been stranded due to snowstorm in Puno in Carabaya province of Peru.

A state of emergency has been declared for much of the snowstorms region, located in the Andes mountains.

Snowstorms have also affected the people in Bolivia and Paraguay.

Rare snow falls occurred in Atacama Desert of Chile, some days ago. Atacama is one of the world's driest places.
