Very strong earthquake hits Panama/Colombia border

According to the USGS, earthquake had its epicenter 102 km WSW of Mutis, Colombia.

Shaking Intensity (MMI)
Light (IV): Nuqui, Mutis, Pizarro, Bellavista, Pie de Pato and Vigia del Fuerte.
Weak (II-III): Medellin, Pereira, Manizales, Cali and Neiva.

At 11:42 am EDT a 6.7 earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean just off the coast of the Panama/Colombia border.

No widespread tsunami threat from the 6.7 quake but a local tsunami is possible for Pacific Coast of Panama and Colombia. News to follow....

171 km (106mi) W of Quibdo, Colombia
186 km (116mi) WNW of Istmina, Colombia
194 km (121mi) WNW of Tado, Colombia
371 km (231mi) SSE of Panama, Panama
