At least two phreatic eruptions have been recorded at the Poas volcano, the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) said.
Poas volcano eruption was first observed at 9:55 a.m. and reached a height of between 2 to 3 meters. While at 11:16 a.m., the second eruption occurred reaching an estimated height of 10 to 15 meters.
The National Emergency Commission (CNE) has maintained a green alert in Turrialba, Poas and Rincon de la Vieja, Inside CostaRica reported.
The Poas Volcano (Volcán Poás) is an active stratovolcano in central Costa Rica which has erupted 39 times since 1828.
