Jammu and Kashmir earthquake shakes Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana

Another moderate earthquake has hit Jammu and Kashmir region with epicenter located 12 km ENE of Kishtwar.
People of Amritsar, Gujrakhan, Gujranwala, Lahore and Rawalpindi region of Punjab have felt light to weak shaking. Tremor was even felt Federal Capital Area of Pakistan Islamabad located 266 km far.

Tremor was felt in several parts of Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.

M 5.4 moderate earthquake shakes Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana region of Northern India today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 13 km SE of Kishtwar, India (Jammu-Kashmir region). It was 9.8 miles deep.

It was well felt by the people of Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar (Punjab), Chandigarh, Haryana, Mohali, Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) and other neighboring areas.

People rushed out of their houses in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

Tremor was felt as far as Pakistan's capital Islamabad.
