Typhoon Soulik has claimed lives of at least five people in China and Taiwan.
The typhoon claimed three lives in Guangdong province of China, Xinhua reported. About 250 millimetres of rainfall has been recorded in just 20 hours.
More than 500,000 people were evacuated from Fujian and Zhejiang, disaster management center said.
Typhoon Soulik made landfall in Fujian Province of China at 4 p.m.

Similarly typhoon Soulik in Taiwan killed two people and injured at least 104 others.
Typhoon Soulik made landfall in Taiwan at around 03:00 on Saturday morning.
The National Health and Family Planning Commission had issued a circular calling for emergency health measures in natural disasters to prevent post-disaster epidemics.
About 5,500 soldiers were kept ready for possible disaster relief jobs.
