Tropical storm Cimaron hits Fujian Province of China: Flood control office

Tropical storm Cimaron made landfall in Fujian Province of China at 8:30 p.m Thursday night, Flood control office said today.

According to the Fujian provincial flood control office, tropical storm Cimaron caused heavy rain and strong gales in Zhangpu County in the city of Zhangzhou where it made landfall.

Cimaron is forecast to bring 160 mm of rainfall in Fujian, Guangdong province and Taiwan from Thursday afternoon to Friday morning.

The National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center has raised tropical storm warning for Cimaron to Yellow.

Flood control office expects more floods and mudslides in SE China.

Three days ago, typhoon Soulik which made landfall in Fujian Province of China claimed lives of five people.

Cimaron is the eighth tropical storm to hit China this year.
