Landslide near Motueka in the Tasman district of New Zealand has claimed life of an woman.
Landslide site which is located in Marahau, about 19 km north of Motuek is believed to be about 100 metres long and 20 metres wide, New Zealand press reported.
Tasman flooding has also caused traffic jams on West Bank Road in the Motueka Valley. Several slips and road closures have been reported.
Tasman District Council has urged people to have their own sandbags.
According to New Zealand police, a media briefing will be held at the Motueka Police Station at 7.15 pm today on the landslide near Kaiteriteri.
Landslides are common natural disasters throughout New Zealand.
