Earthquake Northern Italy 2013

M 5.1 moderate earthquake shakes Northern Italy today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located just 2 km SSW of Fivizzano. It was 6.4 miles deep.

According to Italy's Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, earthquake today occurred in a mountainous region near the Tuscan coast between the provinces of Massa e Carrara and Lucca.

Train services on Aulla – Lucca line were also temporary closed. Northern Italy 2013 also triggered a landslide in the village of Equi Terme.

More than 100 aftershocks were recorded by INGV in just 3 hours!

Tremors were felt as far away as Milan, Verona and Florence.
