The Shiveluch volcano in Russia has spewed ash to a height of up to 7,000 meters, RIA Novosti reported quoting local Emergencies Ministry’s department.
Local firefighters and rescuers have send text messages warning people to stay inside.
Ash fall is seen in the village of Klyuchi in the Ust-Kamchatsky district and authorities have distributed gas masks, The Moscow Times reported.
However according to disaster management official, Shiveluch volcano in Russia is currently not a threat to local residents.
The Kamchatkan volcano Shiveluch has been periodically spewing ash from three to ten kilometers from May 2009.
Shiveluch is the largest and most active volcano in Kamchatka Krai, Russia.
