• Floods in Saudi Arabia
  -Flood in Saudi Arabia have claimed lives of at least 13 people. Four still reported to be missing.
  -Several flight services also disrupted at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh.

• Strong earthquake in Kashmir, India
  -Magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit Eastern Kashmir today. Shaking was even felt in Pakistan's Islamabad and India's New Delhi.

Recent Earthquakes 

• M 3.9 light shallow earthquake in Northern California (@ 9 km depth) with epicenter located 9 km WSW from Petrolia. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Eureka, Arcata, Garberville, Ferndale, Rio Dell, Petrolia and Redway.

• M 5.4 strong earthquake in Eastern Kashmir (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 17 km NE of Bhadarwah. Moderate shaking of MMI V will have felt by the people of Bhadarwah. People of Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Batoti and Ramnagar. Weak shaking will have felt by the people of Amritsar, Lahore, Srinagar, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Chandigarh, Delhi and Kotli. Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Afghanistan (Amu Darya), Angola (Cotundo), Australia, Bolivia, Botswana (Selinda), Brazil (Rio Juruena, Araquaia, Purus, Tocantins), China (Mekong, Xi Jiang, Brahmaputra, Yangtze, Indus), Colombia (Rio Negro), Honduras, Iraq (Shatt al Arab), Kenya, Mozambique (Chire), Pakistan (Indus), Peru (Ucayali, Rio Maraon), Philippines, Sudan (Blue Nile), United States (Mississippi, Arkansas), Vietnam, Zambia (Zambezi, Likando).

• Flooding in Kasese, Uganda
  -Flooding in Kasese, Uganda has claimed four lives.
  -Kilembe Mines Hospital is also flooded. Patients have been shifted to the Municipal Health Centre IV.

• Flooding in Ironwood, Michigan
  -Ironwood and Wakefield residents are using 3,000 to 5,000 sandbags to battle floods.
  -At least one person is reported to evacuated in Ironwood.

• Tropical Cyclone Zane
  -As of 12:00 UTC, TC Zane was located 190 nm north-northeast of Cairns, Australia.
  -It is expected to make landfall over the Cape  York  Peninsula as a category two cyclone today.

• Winter Storm Achilles is expected to bring 6 - 9" of snow by Thursday morning  from Colorado to Wisconsin.
• A coronal mass ejection has been reported from the Sun on May 1, 2013. But this CME is not headed toward Earth.
