Light earthquake shakes Ventura, California- USGS says

M 3.7 light earthquake shakes Southern California today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was 5 km NNW from Meiners Oaks and 23 km N from Ventura. It was 7.1 miles deep.

Following epicenter location and depth, it will have well felt by the people of Ventura, Carpinteria, Ojai, Oxnard and Santa Paula.

Ventura is located northwest of Los Angeles on the California coast and has population approx. 106,433 (2010).

  2. Just so happened to be laying in bed and woken up by the sound of a passing train. I thought it was strange that my bed was slightly shaking when it never had due to a train before...lol
