Hailstorms damage over 200 asbestos homes in Mizoram, India

Hailstorms have damaged over 200 houses with tin- roofed and asbestos walls in Mizoram, India, NDTV reports.

Hailstorms hit different areas of Kolasib district in Mizoram. Hailstorm damaged Sixty-three houses in Kolasib town and hundred houses in Thingdawl village.

Hailstorm damaged further 40 houses in Bukpui village and three in Sethawn village.

Most of the damaged houses have tin- roofed and asbestos walls.

Landslide caused by heavy rainfall has also blocked roads in Kolasib town.

Hailstorm in Andhra Pradesh, India in January 2013 claimed lives of nine people.
