  • Landslide in Petropolis, Brazil
    -Landslide in Petropolis, Brazil has claimed 16 lives and injured 20 others.

    -Around 350 emergency workers are working in rescue operations.

  • M 4.7 moderate shallow earthquake in Poland (@ 4 km depth) with epicenter located 3 km NE of Polkowice. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Glogow, Lubin, Chojnow, Cottbus, Lubin, Polkowice, Jelenia Góra and Wrocław. Click for detail report on earthquake in Poland.

    UpdateAt least 18 miners are reported to be trapped in a Polish copper mine after tunnel collapsed.

  • M 4.7 moderate shallow earthquake in Atacama, Chile (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 103 km SE of Copiapo. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Vallenar, Diego de Almagro and Tinogasta (Argentina).

  • M 6.1 strong harmless sea quake in South Sandwich Islands Region (@ 31 km depth) with epicenter located 121 km E of Bristol Island, Antarctica. It will have just faintly felt in coastal area.

  • Flooding in Central Bulgaria
    -The Danube River in Bulgaria has reached critically high level.
    -Code yellow has been declared for dangerous weather over the entire Bulgarian territory.

    -Emergency situation is still effective in Gabrovo, the towns of Dryanovo and Tryavna.
    Windstorm in Gabrovo, Bulgaria killed one.

Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Reventador, Etna, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Erta Ale, Barren Island, Raung, Paluweh, Gamalama, Sakurajima, Kakar, Tinakula, Yasur, Tolbachik and Kilauea.

    -A tornado in Rutherford County in Tennessee destroyed several mobile houses.
    -Lightning caused fire on the roof of Fairview Middle School in Franklin but luckily it didn't harm students.
    -Hail stone injured two people in Mississippi.
  • Snowstorms in Quebec, Canada
    -Heavy snowstorms have hit Quebec and the Maritimes in Canada.
    -More than 50 schools are closed due to severe weather in Quebec.
