Flooding in Ecuador claims 8 lives

Recent flooding in Ecuador has claimed eight lives. Torrential rainfall caused flooding in Guayas region of Ecuador.

At least eight people have been died by recent flooding in Ecuador. Disaster occurred in Guayas, a southwestern state of Ecuador.

Out of eight fatalities, six people died by electrocution and two by drowning. It also includes a child who was found dead after his body was washed away by floods.

Two emergency shelters have been established for the flood victims.

Several flights have been cancelled at the local airport.

In January 2013, at least 12 people were killed in Ecuador floods and mudslides. Flooding in Ecuador in 1993 killed 250 people (Photo: Dunya News TV).
