  • Heavy Snowfall in Europe
    -Heavy Snowfall in South-Eastern and Central Europe has killed nine people. Four people are reported to be killed in Serbia, three in Czech Republic and two in Croatia.
    -Bulgaria's National Institute of Hydrology and Meteorology has announced code orange for parts of the country.
    -All Bulgaria-Serbia crossing points for freight vehicles are closed due to bad weather conditions.
    -The airport in Zagreb, Croatia, was closed for several hours because of high winds and heavy snow. Snowstorm has also caused travel chaos across the Balkans.
    -Blizzards and cold wave also hit Slovenia and Bosnia.
    Update

    -Eleven killed in avalanche at the Titlis ski resort at Engelberg in the canton of Obwald, Switzerland. Switzerland avalanche also injured two Swedish tourists.

Moderate shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Governor Generoso, Manikling, Ilangay, San Isidro, Magdug and Mati. People of Davao, Cotabato, Marawi, Cagayan de Oro and Mantampay will have felt light to weak shaking.

  • M 4.5 moderate shallow earthquake in Costa Rica (@ 24 km depth) with epicenter located 5 km NNW of Cartago. It will have well felt by the people of Tres Rios, San Diego, Concepcion and Heredia.

  • M 4.5 moderate shallow earthquake in Southern Greece (@ 14 km depth) with epicenter located 10 km NNW of Nemea. It will have well felt by th epeople of Kiaton, Corinth and Argos.

  • M 4.3 light shallow earthquake in Southern Iran (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 94 km NNE of Minab. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Bandar 'Abbas, Qeshm and Bam.

Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Santiago, Poas, Reventador, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Raung, Erta Ale, Paluweh, Gamalama, Batu Tara, Sakurajima, Manam, Ulawun, Tolbachik and Kilauea volcano.


Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Tropical Depression Bopha
    -As of 12:00 UTC, TD Bopha was located 240 nm north-northwest of Manila, Philippines.
  • Tropical Cyclone Claudia
    -As of 12:00 UTC, TC Claudia was located  505 nm south-southeast of Diego Garcia.


Natural Disaster News
  • Red Flag Warning is issued for mountains, valleys in San Diego, United States. That area includes the Palomar and Descanso ranger districts of the Cleveland National Forest.
  • Several people evacuated due to wildfire in North Stradbroke Island in Queensland, Australia.
  • Snow has been falling for more than 30 hours in most parts of Serbia. Worst situation is in Vojvodina and there is more than 20 centimeters of snow in Belgrade.
