• Avalanche in Switzerland
  -Eleven killed in Switzerland avalanche at the Titlis ski resort at Engelberg in the canton of Obwald, Online media reports. Two Swedish tourists also injured.
  -Recent avalanche in Switzerland was 300 metres wide and 800 metres long.
  -The Central Switzerland Alpine rescue service and cantonal police are working in rescue operations.
  -Another avalanche in the Col des Mines area of Verbier ski resort in the canton of Valais injured a British skier (Photo: Avalanche in Switzerland in March 2011 killed four people)..

• Heavy storm in Aegean region of Turkey
  -One killed and another missing as heavy rain and wind hit the provinces of Aegean region in Turkey.
  -Storm affected Provinces of Izmir, Antalya and Mugla.
  -Worse weather is expected across Antalya on Monday and schools in the central region and 17 additional districts would be closed.

• M 7.1 strong harmless sea quake in Banda Sea (@ 159 km depth) with epicenter located 229 km NW of Saumlaki. People of Tual and Ambon will have felt light shaking of MMI IV. USGS reports maximum shaking intensity of IV.
  Update
  -Weak tremor was even felt in Amahai (Indonesia), Dili (East Timor), Cox Peninsula, Palmerston and Darwin (Australia).
  -Earthquake struck in an area where two major fault lines meet in the middle of the ocean.

• M 4.8 moderate earthquake in Araucania, Chile (@ 30 km depth) with epicenter located 30 km SW from Temuco. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Valdivia, Osorno, Temuco, Villarrica, Lautaro, Carahue and Angol.

• M 4.3 light earthquake in Chiapas, Mexico (@ 78 km depth) with epicenter located 32 km WSW from Tapachula. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Suchiate and Huixtla.

• M 3.8 light shallow earthquake in Western Turkey (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 8 km E Kusadasi. It will have well felt by the people of Aydin and Izmir.

Recent Tropical Cyclones

• Tropical Cyclone Claudia
  -As of 12:00 UTC, TC Claudia was located 625 nm south of Diego Garcia. No threat to land.

Natural Disaster News

• Tornado in Arkansas, U.S.A
  -Tornado injured one and damaged homes and buildings in northern Arkansas.
  -Tornado caused damage about four miles west of Viola in Fulton County. Disaster area is along the Arkansas-Missouri state line about 160 miles north of Little Rock.
