Four people are reported to be killed in severe flooding in Tuscany, Italy
. Three people were killed when a car fell off a collapsed bridge near the town of Grosseto in central Italy and another one died in his car when it was submerged by water.


Update
-According to The Guardian, the floodwaters on Sunday were the sixth-highest recorded since 1872. The high water mark was measured just under 5 feet (152 cm).
-
Heavy rainfall has affected Tuscany and the neighboring Umbria region.
Flooding in Tuscany
-More than 200 people evacuated due to Flooding in Tuscany, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
-Worst flood affected area in Tuscany is Massa and Carrara. Residents in Tuscany are warned not to go out and told to stay on the upper floors of their homes.
-More than 50 people evacuated in Massa di Carrara alone.
-In Pisa, some streets have been without electricity following the heavy floods.
-The bad weather is slowly moving towards the centre of the country and is forecast to hit Rome.

Flooding in Venice
-Heavy rainfall and wind caused "acqua alta" (high water) and flooding in Venice. More than 70% of Venice has been flooded.
-The red alert is still in effect. St. Mark's Square (piazza San Marco) in Venice, Italy which is one of the world's most famous squares was also flooded.
-According to measurements taken by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, the Venice is sinking up to two millimeters per year (Photo: Flooded St Mark's square during a 'acqua alta'; AP).
