- Flooding in Lourdes, France
-More than 500 people evacuated due to flooding in the Roman Catholic shrine town of Lourdes.
-All hotels situated on the bank of the Gave de Pau River were evacuated.
-Floods in Lourdes closed various routes to mountain resorts. Roads leading to common Cauterets, Luz-Saint-Sauveur and Pierrefitte Nestalas in Lourdes were also closed. Only the Basilica, located in height, was accessible.
-It is popular pilgrim area where around 6 million visitors people visit in a year.
-Flash floods in south-eastern France in June 2010 killed 19 people (Photo AFP / Laurent Dard).
-It has been raining in Lourdes since Oct. 18. Lourdes is a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Midi-Pyrénées region in south-western France.

- M 6.2 strong earthquake in Vanuatu (@ 36 km depth) with epicenter located 109 km WNW of Sola. Light shaking of MMI IV will have feklt by the peopole of Sola and Port-Olry. People of Luganville and Norsup will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.
23:00 UTC (local time Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM @ epicenter) - M 4.8 moderate shallow earthquake in Russia-Mongolia Border Region (@ 17 km depth) with epicenter located 15 km SW of Kosh-Agach. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of OElgiy, Ak-Dovurak and Altay (China).
22:46 UTC (local time Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 05:46 AM @ epicenter) - M 4.8 moderate shallow earthquake South of Panama (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 130 km WNW of Francisco Pizarro. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Tumaco, Valdez and San Lorenzo de Esmeraldas.
10:56 UTC (local time Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 05:56 AM @ epicenter) - M 4.9 moderate earthquake in Taiwan (@ 79 km depth) with epicenter located 69 km ESE of Su'ao. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Yonakuni, Yilan, Hualian and Taipei.

- A solar plasma larger than the Earth erupted from the sun yesterday. Huge Solar Plasma Wave occurred at 4:15 a.m. EDT (0815 GMT) on October 19, 2012. Note that the sun is currently in an active phase of its 11-year solar weather cycle and is expected to reach its peak activity in 2013.
- President Obama declared disaster areas in 11 Florida counties for damage from Tropical Storm Isaac. Damage from Tropical storm Isaac is estimated at $36.6 million. Isaac hit Florida in late August.
- Fiji is expected to experience one or two tropical cyclones this season. Tropical cyclone warning was issued by the Fiji Meteorological Service. It is even expected to exceed Category 3 status.
