  • M 5.5 moderate earthquake in North Island of New Zealand (@ 110 km depth) with epicenter located just 5 km ENE of Taupo. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Taupo, Turangi, Tokoroam, Murupara, Rotorua and Kawerau. People of Tauranga, Napier, Hamilton, Hastings and Gisborne will have felt weak shaking of MMI IV.

People of Concord, Manchester, Augusta, Nashua, Amherst, Chicopee, Easthampton, Holyoke, Northampton, South Hadley, Ware, Westfield, West Springfield, Longmeadow, Springfield, Greenfield, Athol, Fitchburg, Gardner, Groton, Leominster, Shrewsbury, Framingham, Acton, Concord, Andover, Methuen, Methuen and Lowell will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.   • M 4.6 moderate shallow earthquake in Central Turkey (@ 27 km depth) with epicenter located 11 km W of Kozan. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Imamoglu, Kadirli and Ceyhan.

  • M 5.4 moderate deep earthquake in Izu Islands, Japan Region (@ 103 km depth) with epicenter located 204 km SSE of Hachijo-jima. Just a weak saking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Shimoda, Tateyama,  Oyama and Tokyo.

    -Paul is a category two hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale scale.
  • Hurricane Rafael
    -As of 09:00 UTC, hurricane Rafael was located 555 km S of Bermuda.
    -Rafael is a category one hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale.
  • Tropical Storm Prapiroon
    -As of 09:00 UTC, TS Prapiroon was located 285 nm south-southeast of Kadena air base, Okinawa, Japan.
  • Tropical Storm Maria
    -As of 09:00 UTC, TS Maria was located 135 nm north of iwo to, Japan.

  • Wildfire in northern Arizona
    -Lightning-caused wildfire in Tonto National Forest in northern Arizona.
    -Fire has burned more than 100 acres.
    -Two air tankers and two helicopters plus three planes are struggling to control the blaze.
