  • M 5.2 moderate shallow earthquake Offshore Coquimbo, Chile (@ 20 km depth) with epicenter located 62 km WSW of Illapel. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Salamanca,  La Ligua and  Hacienda La Calera.

  • M 5.5 moderate earthquake in Guatemala (@ 77 km depth) with epicenter located just 9 km NE of La Gomera. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of San Miguel Duenas, Antigua Guatemala, San Antonio Aguas Calientes, Ciudad Vieja, Santa Maria de Jesus, Santa Catarina Barahona, Mixco, Villa Nueva and Guatemala City. People of San Salvador and Soyapango will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.

  • M 4.4 light earthquake in Dominican Republic Region (@ 61 km depth) with epicenter located 23 km N of Miches. It will have well felt by the people of Samaná, Santa Cruz de El Seibo, Santo Domingo and Las Terrenas.

  • M 5.6 strong earthquake Off the East Coast of Kamchatka, Russia (@ 22 km depth) with epicenter located 136 km (84 miles) SSE of Vilyuchinsk. Just a weak shaking of MMI III will have felt by the people of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Vilyuchinsk and Paratunka.

    -Paul is a category one hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale.
  • Tropical Storm Rafael
    -As of 15:00 UTC, TS Rafael was located 465 km N of San Juan Puerto Rico.
    -A tropical storm watch is in effect for Bermuda.
    -Rafael is expected to become a hurricane late today.
  • Typhoon Prapiroon
    -As of 15:00 UTC, Typhoon Prapiroon was located 305 nm southeast of Kadena air base, Okinawa, Japan.
  • Tropical Storm Maria
    -As of 15:00 UTC, TS Maria was located  120 nm south of iwoto, Japan.
