Juan Rivera from McGill, Montreal:
"We live in the McGill area of Montreal. We heard what seemed like a huge truck rumbling toward us and the house began to vibrate strongly. It got very loud and then we heard a pop and felt like something had hit the house. Then the rumbling subsided very slowly. It was still there about a minute later. There was a directionality to the quake. It seemed to come from the west and move toward the east."

Mark Spronkmans from Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, Quebec, Canada:
"Light shaking for 5-10 seconds ending with a more violent shake. Windows and walls vibrated clearly."

Irene Veronica from Repentigny, Montreal:

"I always thought that I'd never notice earthquakes when I bought this house next to the train track, I was wrong. This woke me up - it was quite loud and it caused something to fall in my china cabinet... Trains, no matter how heavy, never cause so much shaking!"
