Did you feel it? - Report an Earthquake
  • M 4.3 light shallow earthquake in Pakistan (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 28 km NNE of Bhag. It will have well felt by the people of Sibi, Dadhar and Mach.
    22:14 UTC (local time Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 03:14 AM @ epicenter) 
  • M 4.6 moderate shallow aftershocks in Gulf of California (@ 28 km depth) with epicenter located 52 km N of La Paz, Mexico. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Ciudad Constitucion, Loreto and Ahome. Classes were suspended and thousands of tourists were evacuated after magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit La Paz, Mexico some days ago.

  • M 4.8 moderate deep earthquake in Mindoro, Philippines (@ 141 km depth) with epicenter located 12 km WNW of Bagalangit. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Calatagan, Calaca, Balayan, San Pascual, San Teodoro and Manila.
    14:25 UTC (local time Friday, September 28, 2012 at 10:25 PM @ epicenter)
  • M 4.9 moderate shallow earthquake Off the East Coast of Honshu, Japan (@ 22 km depth) with epicenter located 247 km ESE of Namie. It will have just faintly felt in coastal area.

Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Argentina (Parana), Australia (Murray), Bolivia (Guapore and Madre de Dios), Brazil (Purus, Rio Juruena, Rio Teles Pires, Rio Paranaiba, Rio Negro and Tocantins), Cambodia, Cameroon (Benue), Chad, China (Mekong, Brahmaputra and Huang He), Colombia (Japura and Magdelena), Ethiopia (Blue Nile), Ghana, India (Brahmaputra), Kenya (Nyando and Muhoroni), Mali, Myanmar (Irrawaddy), New Zealand, Niger, Nigeria (Niger and Benue), Pakistan (indus), Peru (Purus), Senegal, Sudan (Nile) and United States (Mississippi).
  • Flash floods in Odessa, Texas
    -Heavy rain caused flooding in the Midland and Odessa areas of western Texas.
    -Power outage reported in Oncor (ON'-kor).

Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Typhoon Jelawat
    -As of 15:00 UTC, Typhoon Jelawat was located 250 nm southwest of Kadena air base, Okinawa, Japan.
    -All flights and ships into and out of Okinawa islands of Japan cancelled. Jelawat is expected to be one of the strongest typhoons to hit the country in decades!
    - Jelawat is forecast to hit the main part of Okinawa on Saturday and island of Kyushu on Sunday.
  • Tropical Storm Ewiniar
    -As of 15:00 UTC, TS Ewiniar was located  280 nm southeast of Tokyo, Japan.
  • Tropical Storm Nadine
    -As of 15:00 UTC, TS Nadine was located 1195 km SW of the Azores.
    -Nadine is moving toward the west-northwest near 7 mph. No threat to land.
  • Post-Tropical Cyclone Miriam
    -As of 15:00 UTC, Miriam was located 705 km W of the southern tip of Baja California.
    -There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.


Natural Disaster News
  • Landslide in Cairo, Egypt
    -At least 25 houses evacuated after landslide in Doweika slum area of Cairo.
    -No injuries so far.
  • Tornado in Island of Nuiatoputapu, Tonga
    -Tornado destroyed several houses in the village of Makaunga.
    -Displaced families are living in tents provided by the Red Cross.
  • Tornado in Douglas County, Colorado
    -A tornado reported in southern Douglas County about eight miles east of Larkspur.
    -A late season tornado is very rare for the entire Denver metro area.
