  -Death toll from Uttarakhand flash floods has risen to 31.
  -The floods caused heavy landslides in the state. A stretch of Gangotri national highway washed away by floods.
  -Three rescuers of the fire brigade department also died at Gangori area of  Uttarkashi district.
  -More than 50  people are still reported to be missing in Uttarkashi town, Gangori, Barkot and Dunda.
  -Flash floods alert issued for Jammu region too. The water level in Chenab, Tawi, Ujh and Basantar rivers are nearing the danger mark in Jammu and Kashmir.

• M 4.4 light earthquake in Dominican Republic (@ 71 km depth) with epicenter located 6 km SW of Sanchez. It will have well felt by the people of Nagua, Sabana Grande de Boya, Sabana de La Mar, Las Terrenas, Villa Riva, Santo Domingo and San Pedro de Macorís.

• M 4.9 moderate earthquake in Turkey-Syria-Iraq Border Region (@ 50 km depth) with epicenter located 4 km NE of Uludere. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Zakhu, Sirnak and Silopi.

• M 4.5 moderate earthquake in Northern Xinjiang, China (@ 15 km depth) with epicenter located 62 km NW of Yanqi. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Korla, Urunchi and Changji.

• M 4.9 moderate deep earthquake in Tonga (@ 172 km depth) with epicenter 26 km W of Hihifo. Just a weak shaking will have felt by the people of Apia, Tafuna and Pago Pago, American Samoa.

Ongoing Major Flash Floods: Australia (River Darling), Botswana (Selinda), Brazil (River Tocantins and River Amazon), China (River Mekong, River Yangtze, River Xi Jiang, River Brahmaputra and River Huang He), Colombia (River Magdelena and River Japura), Costa Rica, Ethiopia (River Blue Nile), Indonesia, Kenya (Tana upstream from Masinga), Madagascar, Mexico and Sudan (River White Nile).

• Flash floods in Scotland-England border region
  -Around 30 homes evacuated due to flash floods in border town of Jedburgh.
  -More downpours are forecast for much of the UK today.

• Tropical Depression Thirteen
  -As of 01:00 UTC, TD Thirteen located approximately 385 nm northwest of Wake Island.

Natural Disaster News

• Wildfire in Layton, Utah
  -About 30 homes evacuated due to wildfire in Layton.
  -Evacuation shelters were set up at Northridge High School, 2430 N. Hill Field Road by Red Cross.
  
• Thunderstorms in Chicago
  -All events by Lollapalooza music festival in downtown Chicago halted due to thunderstorms.
  -Storms also caused flight delays at O'Hare International and Midway airport.
