  • M 5.0 moderate earthquake in Western Nepal (@ 38 km depth) with epicenter located 49 km NNW of Pyuthan. It will have well felt by the people of Tulsipur, Baglung, Birendranagar and capital Kathmandu. Click for detail report on this quake.
    Update
    Following Nepal Seismological Center earthquakes of magnitude 5.6 and 4.7 occured in southern part of Rukum at 10:15 PM and 10:27 PM respectively in 2069/5/7 . Magnitude 5.6 is the strongest quake to hit Nepal after 2011 September quake that hit Nepal-India border region. If the magnitude is correct, then major damage is confirmed around epicenter area. However, just one quake is mentioned by International seismological centers.
  • M 3.5 weak shallow earthquake in Romania (@ 23 km depth) with epicenter located just 3 km SE Puiesti. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Râmnicu sarat and Focsani.

  • M 2.7 weak shallow earthquake in Bosnia and Herzegovina (@ 2 km depth) with epicenter located 4 km NE Zenica. It will have well felt around epicenter area.

Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Argentina, Australia, Botsawana (Savuti channel), Botswana (Selinda), Brazil (River Tocantins), Chad, China (River Mekong, River Huang He and River Brahmaputra), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Mali, New Zealand, Peru (River Rio Maranon), Sudan, Uruguay, USA and Venezuela (River Orinoco).
  • Flooding in Las Vegas, United States
    -A cluster of thunderstorms caused flooding in several areas of the Las Vegas valley.
    -Following the Nevada Highway Patrol, there were more than 100 crashes on Las Vegas-area roads and freeways, but no serious injuries.
    -Delays for flights reported at McCarran International Airport.

  • Flash floods in Maricopa, Arizona
    -State of emergency declared for Maricopa flooding.
    -Road crews are reporting a large amount of water in the Tortosa area of Dalli Lane and Madrid Avenue.
    -Officials said approximately four homes in the area were directly affected.
  • Flash floods in Greensboro, North Carolina
    -Five families evacuated from an apartment building on Hahns Lane because of flooding.
    -The National Weather Service had issued a flash flood warning for Guilford and Randolph counties.

Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Typhoon Tembin
    -As of 03:00 UTC, Typhoon Tembin was located 185 nm southeast of Taipei, Taiwan.
    -Eastern Taiwan could be the hardest hit, with accumulated precipitation forecast to reach some 1,000 mm.
    -So far 103 domestic fights and 13 international flights have been cancelled due to the typhoon. Click for detail update on Typhoon Tembin.
  • Typhoon Bolaven
    -As of 03:00 UTC, Typhoon Bolaven was located 580 nm southeast of Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan.
  • Tropical Storm Isaac
    -As of 03:00 UTC, TS Isaac was located 440 km se of San Juan Puerto Rico.
    -A Hurricane Warning has been issued for Haiti.
    -The government of the Bahamas has issued a tropical storm watch for the southeastern Bahamas including the Acklins, Crooked Island, long cay, the Inaguas, Mayaguana and the Ragged Islands as well as for the Turks and Caicos Islands.
