Recent Natural Disasters
- Lightning in Bangladesh
-At least 13 killed and 15 injured when lightning struck a mosque in a remote village in Bangladesh.
-Disaster occurred as people were holding special Ramadan prayers.
-The strike occurred in Saraswati, some 200 kilometers from the capital of Dhaka.
-Area residents and police took the wounded at a Dharmapasha area hospital.

Recent natural disasters in Bangladesh - Heavy flooding in Thai-Myanmar Border
-Heavy flooding closed the harbours along the Moei River. Authorities have declared Mae Sot Municipality an emergency zone.
-Cross border trade between Thailand and Myanmar hampered due to recent flooding.
-More than 10 villages on the Thai side are reported to be flooded. Floodwater of over one metre has inundated both the Thai and the Myanmar border.
-Several houses and cars on the Myawaddy side are heavily damaged by the floods.
-The Moei River is a tributary of the Salween River which originates in Phop Phra district, Tak Province and forms the natural border line between Thailand and Burma.

Helicopters and rescuers are on their way to the affected villages. - M 4.5 moderate deep earthquake in Jujuy, Argentina (@ 195 km depth) with epicenter located 43 km NW of San Antonio de los Cobres. It will have faintly felt by the people of San Salvador de Jujuy, Palpala and Salta.

- Flash floods in Beni, Nepal
-Several houses in Campus Chowk in Beni (Myagdi) flooded.
-Flood water entered from the Anprukh section of the Beni-Pakhapani road and affect more than 75 houses.

- Tropical Storm Gilma
-As of 01:00 UTC, TS Gilma was located 1075 km WSW of the southern tip of Baja California.
-Gilma is moving toward the north-northwest near 5 mph.
-There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. - Tropical Depression Seven
-As of 01:00 UTC, TD Seven was located 590 km E of Barbados and 750 km E of Martinique. Tropical Depression 7 is expected to reach the Windward Islands Today (Saturday).
-A tropical storm watch is in effect for Guadeloupe and Martinique, Dominica, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Vincent and The Grenadines.
-The depression is moving toward the west near 24 mph.
Update
-Two killed other two reported to be missing in Trinidad as a tropical wave lashed the eastern Caribbean with heavy rains and wind.
-Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar declared Diego Martin a disaster area and said the government has opened two shelters.

-Tornado destroyed several building and also caused damage at the St. Francis Animal Sanctuary in Tylertown, State of Mississippi. - Storms in Southern New England
-Storms in southern New England downed trees and power lines and also caused minor street flooding.
-About 17,000 customers are still without power in Connecticut and 14,000 in southeastern Massachusetts, most in Plymouth County. - Wildfire at Arizona-Utah border
-A lightning-caused wildfire in far northwestern Arizona near the Utah border has burned 1,000 acres.
-Fire is burning on the Arizona Strip District management area about 8 miles southeast of Fredonia.
