-Death toll from Manila flood has risen to 60 while damage to crops in one region alone reached at least P1 billion. Of the 60 fatalities, 11 died in landslides, 39 drowned, four were electrocuted, 2 died of cardiac arrest while 4 persons remained unidentified.
-Heavy rainfall and flooding affected 2,442,135 persons in 31 cities and 16 provinces from Ilocos in the north down to Western Visayas in the central Philippines.
-National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said 7 persons were still missing as of Friday morning.

-More than 40,000 people evacuated from Marikina.
-Orange rainfall Alert issued by The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration for Camanava, Quezon City, Marikina City and Manila.
-All the classes from pre-school to high school suspended in both public and private schools in Makati City.
-Work for all city hall employees on Friday will be suspended in Taguig city.

-Flooding and landslides in Philippines killed 15 people and displaced 130,000 other.
-Eight people, including five children, were killed when a landslide buried three houses in a village in the Manila suburb of Quezon City.
-Floods and landslides were caused by heavy rains in the Philippine capital Manila and several provinces.
-All the Government offices, courts and schools were suspended in Manila and nine northern provinces due to severe disaster.
-About 58,237 people are taking shelters in evacuation centers.

Nonstop monsoon rains left 80 percent of Metro Manila flooded on Tuesday.
Pagasa Administrator Nathaniel Servando said “the worst is not over for Metro Manila,” as the weather bureau expects the rains to continue well today too (Wednesday).

-Around 300 people rescued from Barangay (village) Tatalon in Quezon City.

About Ondoy
The name Ondoy has been assigned by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) to three tropical cyclones in the Western Pacific since 2001.
2001's Tropical Storm Ondoy (28W) - a tropical storm that was only recognized by PAGASA and JTWC.
2005's Tropical Storm Tembin (T0522, 23W, Ondoy)
2009's Typhoon Ketsana (T0916, 17W, Ondoy) - struck the Philippines.
Typhoon Ketsana (PAGASA name Ondoy) was the most devastating typhoon in the 2009 Pacific typhoon season with a damage of $1.09 billion and 747 fatalities.

Francis Tolentino, chairman of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has urged the affected residents not to wait for the rescue teams and to evacuate their homes.
This is what he said:
"Sana makinig sila at unahin nila ang physical and family safety. Huwag na tayong maghintay ng rescue, lumikas na po tayo kung saan mas secured tayo" [We're hoping that they listen and put their physical and family's safety first. Let's not wait for rescue, let's evacuate where we are most secured]

-Water level high at the La Mesa reservoir in Quezon City. Hundreds of residents near the Marikina River were evacuated.

Evacuated people are living in Concepcion Integrated School , Bulelak Gym , H. Bautista Elementary School, Malanday Elementary School, Concepcion Elementary School, Sta. Elena Chapel (Lambak), Nangka Elementary School , Filipinas Village Gym and Sampaguita Gym.
-Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has upgraded rainfall warning from green to red in Metro Manila.
-About 83.5mm rainfall recorded over Quezon City and 63.5mm over Marikina for the past three hours.
-All classes in school levels in Manila, Mandaluyong, Taguig, Muntinlupa, Pasig and Marikina cities are suspended for today.
-Earlier residents near the Tullahan and Tumana rivers were advised to evacuate to higher ground. Evacuation center is set up at La Mesa Dam nears spilling level.
-Floods slowed traffic on different Metro Manila roads. The torrential rain is indirectly related to Typhoon Haikui.
-Recent rainfalls are caused by southwest monsoon. More heavy to intense (10.0 to 30.0 mm/hr) rainfall is forecast over the rest of Metro Manila today.

About Ondoy
The name Ondoy has been assigned by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) to three tropical cyclones in the Western Pacific since 2001.
2001's Tropical Storm Ondoy (28W) - a tropical storm that was only recognized by PAGASA and JTWC.
2005's Tropical Storm Tembin (T0522, 23W, Ondoy)
2009's Typhoon Ketsana (T0916, 17W, Ondoy) - struck the Philippines.
Typhoon Ketsana (PAGASA name Ondoy) was the most devastating typhoon in the 2009 Pacific typhoon season with a damage of $1.09 billion and 747 fatalities.

Francis Tolentino, chairman of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has urged the affected residents not to wait for the rescue teams and to evacuate their homes.
This is what he said:
"Sana makinig sila at unahin nila ang physical and family safety. Huwag na tayong maghintay ng rescue, lumikas na po tayo kung saan mas secured tayo" [We're hoping that they listen and put their physical and family's safety first. Let's not wait for rescue, let's evacuate where we are most secured]

-Water level high at the La Mesa reservoir in Quezon City. Hundreds of residents near the Marikina River were evacuated.
Evacuation centers
Evacuated people are living in Concepcion Integrated School , Bulelak Gym , H. Bautista Elementary School, Malanday Elementary School, Concepcion Elementary School, Sta. Elena Chapel (Lambak), Nangka Elementary School , Filipinas Village Gym and Sampaguita Gym.
-Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has upgraded rainfall warning from green to red in Metro Manila.
-About 83.5mm rainfall recorded over Quezon City and 63.5mm over Marikina for the past three hours.
-All classes in school levels in Manila, Mandaluyong, Taguig, Muntinlupa, Pasig and Marikina cities are suspended for today.
-Earlier residents near the Tullahan and Tumana rivers were advised to evacuate to higher ground. Evacuation center is set up at La Mesa Dam nears spilling level.
-Floods slowed traffic on different Metro Manila roads. The torrential rain is indirectly related to Typhoon Haikui.
-Recent rainfalls are caused by southwest monsoon. More heavy to intense (10.0 to 30.0 mm/hr) rainfall is forecast over the rest of Metro Manila today.
