Indian seismological centers mentions magnitude 5.1 in Kachchh, Gujarat. In the aftertoon mild tremors (M 3.8) were also felt in Jhajjar disatrict of Haryana.
M 5.0 strong earthquake shakes Guajarat, India today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake epicenter was located 40 km NNW of Bhachau and 63 km N Gandhidham. It was 14.0 miles deep.
Tremors were even felt in Ahmadabad (Gujarat), Silvassa (Dadra and Nagar Haveli) and parts of Sind region (Pakistan).
Gujarat is a state in western India. The 2001 Gujarat earthquake had epicenter located about 9 km south-southwest of the village of Chobari in Bhachau Taluka of Kutch District of Gujarat, India. The devastating quake killed around 20,000 people (including 18 in South eastern Pakistan), injured another 167,000 and destroyed nearly 400,000 homes.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

Amit Gupta from Gandhidham: AT NIGHT APPROX 1.45AM WE WER SLEEPING SUDDENLY WE FELT SOME ONE IS SHAKING US STRONGLY SUDDENLY I AWAKE AND SAW HERE N THERE NO ONE WAS THERE AT THAT TIME DOGS WER BARKING RUDELY ALL THE COW HAD LEFT THAT AREA. THEN WE REALISED THAT IT WAS EARTH QUAKE.MORNING IT WAS CONFIRMED FROM THE NEWS.
