Recent Natural Disasters

• Flooding in Britain
  -The Environment Agency has issued 30 alerts of potential flooding across the South East and three in Wales. Amber warnings issued which mean people should be prepared for potential flooding.
  -Basement flats on Littlehampton seafront in West Sussex were evacuated.
  -Flood alerts and severe weather warning are in effect across parts of England and Wales.
  Rain clouds carried from France is causing heavy pour in parts of London
  -Several weather warnings issued for London and southeast England by the Met Office.
  -Day before yesterday, about 1,000 people were moved to safety from flooding in caravan parks and villages near Aberstwyth.
• Tornado in Alabama
  -Few houses reported to be damaged in a tornado in southeast Alabama.
  -Heavy rainfall caused flooding in Mobile County.

• M 4.9 moderate deep earthquake in Southern Peru (@ 110 km depth) with epicenter located 45 km ENE of Tacna. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Tacna and Arica.

• M 4.1 light shallow earthquake in Western Turkey (@ 12 km depth) with epicenter located 26 km S Fethiye. Just a weak shaking of MMI II will have felt by the people of Denizli and Fethiye.

• M 5.7 strong shallow earthquake in Afghanistan-Pakistan border region (@ 31 km depth) with epicenter located 25 km E Nahrin. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Baghlan, Pol-e Khomri, Khanabad, Farkhar, Taloqan and Konduz.   Update
  Three people reported to be killed. About 60 people are said to be trapped under rubble in Mullah Jan village in Burka.
• M 3.8 light shallow earthquake in Sikkim-Nepal border region (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 4 km NW of Namchi Nayabazar road. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Namchi, Jorethang, Soreng, Singtam and Nayabazar. Nepal seismological center mentions 4.5 magnitude in Panchthar-Sikkim border. • Iceland/Katla recent volcanic activity
  -14 minor tremors recorded within an hour in the sub-glacial volcano Katla in Mýrdalsjökull, south Iceland.
  -The reason is believed to be increased geothermal activity in one of Katla’s craters.
• Guatemala/Fuego recent volcanic activity
  -Orange alert declared after increase in Guatemala's Fuego volcano.

Flooding List

• Flooding in Florida
  -Flood warnings stretched along the Gulf Coast from Florida's Panhandle into Mississippi.
  -Strong winds forced the evacuation of a 200-unit apartment complex in Pensacola.

Tropical Cyclone List

• Tropical Depression Five
  -Tropical depression 05w (five) is located approximately 220 nm south of Guam.

• Tornado in Donegal, Ireland
  -According to Met Éireann, there are reports of tornadoes in Donegal.
  -Incident happened over Sliabh Sneacht in Inishowen.
