M 4.6 moderate shallow earthquake strikes Bangladesh (@ 16 km depth) today with epicenter located 5 km NE Narayanganj. The earthquake has struck in a very highly populated area in the Dhaka Province. Light to weak shaking will have experienced by the people of Dhaka. However, NO DAMAGE CONFIRMED.
The tremor was felt in Uttara, Mohakhali, Rampura and Mirpur.

It is a flat region with a maximum altitude of 44 m.

Nazmul Huda from Dhaka, South Badda: At the time of incident I was in my apartment 2nd floor of 4 storyed building. Though it was M 4.6 earth quake but the shake seems to me very high, may be due to epicenter was very near. No damage, surrounding mine, reported.
